Using construction data with Bridgit Insights

Bridgit Insights was created to give you greater transparency into your projects by collecting data from your sites. When you log new tasks and information in Bridgit Tasks, that data is also collected by the Insights tool, which automatically creates valuable charts and graphics to give you a quick snapshot of progress and performance.

Currently, the Bridgit Insights tool includes:

Task Status Summary

The Task Status Summary shows you a really quick and clear view of your project’s open, completed, and closed tasks. This is going to give you the quickest overview of how your project is progressing at this point in time.

This summary is available on Bridgit Field’s web platform, as well as the mobile app. In the app, you can click on one of the statuses (open, complete, or closed), and you’ll be taken into the Bridgit Tasks tool to view the full list of items with that status.

Open Tasks Aging Summary

This summary is very useful to see how old tasks actually are, along with the quantity of old tasks. This can be very useful when assessing pace of work and comparing progress week-over-week. Tasks that have been left open longer appear in the red categories of the graph. Recently opened tasks appear in green.

Having a higher number of tasks in the orange and red categories can be an indication that tasks aren’t being completed in a timely manner. On Bridgit’s web platform, you can filter this information by the company assigned to see the pace of work from each contractor.

Company Task Breakdown

This might be the most useful part of Bridgit Insights. It allows you to monitor the performance of each contractor on site, and hold them accountable for their work. The chart lists all open, complete, closed, and overdue tasks associated with each contractor.

You can also compare the current numbers to the previous week. Just click the checkbox in the top right to reveal delta information at every point in the chart (delta metrics shown in blue below).

Advanced filtering and custom reports

Bridgit offers five different report sizes: PDFs from small to extra-large, and a spreadsheet format. To make a custom report in any of these formats, you start by filtering the tasks on your project.

Clicking the “Filter” option in the top bar will allow you to filter tasks by status, location, assignee, tags, and more. For example, you may want to create a report of incomplete drywalling on the seventh floor. To create this report, you can filter by:

1) Task status: open

2) Assigned to: dry wall company

3) Location: floor 7

Next, you can name your report, and select your report type:

The small report is great for weekly meetings with subcontractors or progress updates. It gives a quick overview of each task in the list.

The extra-large report is a more detailed option that’s great for holding contractors accountable for incomplete work, or for exploring a disputed task. It provides all photos, due dates, comments, and more.

The spreadsheet report is a great option when you need to work with the data further or integrate the information with another system.

Mobile reporting

Using the Bridgit Field app, you can quickly filter your task lists by status, location, assignees, and tags. Once you’ve filtered down your lists, you can create a report of that task list in seconds by tapping the report icon in the top right corner, choosing your report type, and adding a name. Reports are sent directly to your email inbox, and can be shared right away by forwarding the email.
