New report measures construction safety and proactive practices on site

Safety report

How do you measure safety on the construction site? According to Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), our industry could do better on this topic. Most safety reports are focused on past incidents or existing issues, but ABC is encouraging construction professionals to also evaluate the proactive practices in place.

Since 1989, ABC has been studying how to improve safety through their Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP). In their new study, the 2018 Safety Performance Report, ABC measured how this program can prevent safety incidents on site. Those companies who used STEP were up to 670% safer than the industry average.
